Registered riders and students of all classes and organized rides --- except the Learn to Ride class -- must be able to balance and pedal, start, and stop a bicycle effectively and should be capable of completing a 5-8 mile group ride.
All cyclists must bring a helmet and a bicycle that fits and is in good working order (i.e., wheels spin freely, brakes function). While rental bikes are not available from CBC, there are many rental shops in the city.
Registered students and participants may be sent home at their own expense and without refund from CBC if they do not have a bicycle in good working condition. Registered students and riders also may be sent home at their own expense and without refund from CBC if they feel uncomfortable in a group ride while in traffic. Registered students and participants may also be asked to refrain from participating in the day's group ride in traffic if the instructor states that such students need more practice before going out into traffic, and that this is at their own expense and without refund from CBC.
Classes and organized riders are held rain, light snow, or shine. In impending inclement weather, registered students and participants will receive final word 30 minutes before the riding module of any class which includes riding time. Participants are asked to have their contact phones turned on.
Participants for all "adult" classes must be at least 14 years old. Participants between 14 and 18 years old must attend with a legal guardian. Participants for any organized ride may not be younger than two years of age, and all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Deposits are for classes and private sessions are non-refundable. However, within the same month of the originally-scheduled class or session, deposits are transferable.
